I have a dream....

I am currently reading a book that my mother and father-in-law gave me. It is called "Sun Stand Still" by Steven Furtick. I am partially through the book and it has got me doing a lot of thinking about my own faith and dreams. In the book, it talks about the men and women of the Bible and account after account of these characters calling out to God for a miracle and believing in faith that God would make things happen. One of the examples was of Joshua leading the Israelites before entering into the promised land. They were marching into battle and Joshua heard from God that everyone of his enemy would be defeated. From the get go, the battle was the Israelites, but they knew that when night fell that many of these men would get away. Joshua remembered what God said, and so he called out to God to have the sun stand still so that the Israelites could defeat the Amorites, every single one. When Joshua called out for this, the sun literally stood still. The Bible said that the sun stood still for an extra half day.
The author goes on to say that God is still the same God and still wants to move mountains in our own lives. He mentioned at one point that if our dreams don't intimidate us, then we need to reconsider what God has in store for us. A good way to prove if your dreams are big enough is to share them with your friends and family. If your friends and family think you are crazy and think that there is no way possible that you can make it happen, then maybe, just maybe, that is what God is calling you to believe in faith for.
I am not a dreamer. I am actually very much logical and I can kill a dream in my mind the first moment that it comes to my mind. This book has got me thinking though? What dreams has God given me, that I have pushed off? Time to start digging through the old waste basket and start believing that God is going to make the sun stand still in my own life.
